Eco for Life Supporting In Kind Direct HRH Prince of Wales Charity
It was a fantastic to be able to support such a great charity.
Every day charities in the UK struggle to raise sufficient funds to purchase essential items to sustain their operations. At the same time companies send the very same items to landfill, either deemed as surplus or not fit to retail because of slight cosmetic flaws in the product or packaging. Founded by HRH The Prince of Wales in 1996, In Kind Direct runs a unique service redistributing surplus products from manufacturers and retailers to UK charities working at home and abroad.
HRH The Prince of Wales stated “Year after year, In Kind Direct delivers real benefits to hard-pressed communities, to business and to the environment. I hope an example of the virtuous circle in action. Our plans for the future are ambitious, not only increasing our impact in this country, but spreading the idea to other countries too. The demand for the help which In Kind Direct gives is enormous. This situation will only increase in the current economic climate and I can only urge more companies to recognise the difference they can make by working through In Kind Direct” http://www.princeofwales.gov.uk/the-prince-of-wales/the-princes-charities/kind-direct
We supplied 10 pallets of our Eco for Life mineral waters which equates to 16,800 bottles and in less than 24 hours In Kind Direct posted on social media saying “On the catalogue for less than 24 hrs and already almost out of stock! Eco For Life thank you so much for the donation. This will make a huge difference to a lot of people. Thank you!”.
This was fantastic news, its great to get behind so many of the great causes that In Kind Direct support they have over 8,000 charity partners in their network and so many are thrilled to see water bottles made available on their catalogue of donations.
Knowing that the bottles are made 100% from plants and can be reused is an added benefit along with the fact that they are environmentally friendly, saving 60% less emissions in manufacture and 50% less fossil fuel in manufacture compared to PET plastic bottles this means that for every 24 bottles its a massive saving of 1 litre of fossil fuel!. Being made from an annually renewable source, natural and chemical free,
